Motion Planning for Robotic Arms Possible Factoring

This PDF paper explains factor-guided for motion planning for robotics arms. Motion planning is important to define real application. This robots arm build guidelines present a motion planning algorithm that finds plans of motion from one arm configuration to a goal arm configuration in 2D space assuming no self-collision. Our algorithm is unique in two ways: (a) it utilizes the topology of the arm and obstacles to factor the search space and re…

CT Arm Designed Like An Elephant’s Trunk

Hirose Fukushima Robotics Lab in 1990 to 1993 developed arm robotic that designed to conduct such complex machinery operation like handling nuclear reactor. They thought that to do such complex operation it should take a special robot arm. This arm robot should be able to move freely and change it shapes like what elephant has their trunk. The construction of trunk-like arm robot takes actuator that able to produce large movement and should be c…

Elumotion Sheffield Arm The Closest Human-Like Arm

The Elumotion Sheffield Arm is a robot model of the human upper-limb. The robot has been studied and developed in the Sheffield Hallam University. This robot project try to find the proper mechanical movement that will transform into replica of human arm with the human-like moving arm. This robot will bring the result into the real robot arms creation that close to human arm. In the research processes some university working together on the ‘a…

Bible Scribe Robot Arm from Robotlab

Bible Scribe is how they name this remarkable robot project that was done in 2007. This robot was developed by robotlab. The Bible Scribe Robot Arm uses industrial robot arm to write down the bible and its contents on papers. Bible Scribe Robot Arm could write in lines with high precision and remarkably neat. More than just write the bible on the order this robot is able to draw it on calligraphic lines. This intelligent industrial robot arm wor…

Build Your Own Darth Vader Robotic Arm

Created to be one of your 8 or up years old kid’s toy, this hand powered robotic arm could be creative way to teach them about robotic. This robotic arm is an assembly robotic arm with 45 parts that your kids could assembly easily. When it already has been assembled completely kids could play with this robotic arm that offers interactive control with hand-powered. This Darth Vader robotic arm could grip and hold lightweight thing to play with. P…

BROKK 40 + Multi Arm System Robotic For Nuclear Decontamination And Decommissioning

…they started development of robot that will do all the hazardous decommissioning process. This new technology should be faster, safer, cost-effective and reduce the radioactivity actively. Here they developed robot with multi arm system to meet all the requirements. With the multi arm robotic system, two different tasks could be done in simultaneously or separately. The decommissioning process takes co-operative and complex manipulation tasks, it…

AL5A Robot Arm By Lynxmotion

This Lynxmotion robot called AL5A the robot arm. This robot is accurate, fast, and the movement is repeatable. Using the RIOS as the SSC-32 servo controller this robot has powerful program. Like another robot, this robot has special features that differentiate AL5A from others. This robot has a base rotation, single plane shoulder, elbow, wrist motion, a functional gripper, and an optional wrist rotate. This robot works in this way: RIOS contr…

Transferable Changeable Motion, Shape, and Posture of RobotPHONE

Tachi Lab worked on the robot that shares the changing of shape or motion. It was said that this RobotPHONE is using system that sharing interpersonal exchange. This system uses robot as the media as shape and motion sharing agent for the communication (physical communication). The modification made in a robot will be a real time changing posture in another robot. When one get changing in shape, motion, or posture the other one will experien…

Turned Arm Robotic Into Ferrari F2007

Paolo Robuffo Giordano and his mates in Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, Germany, created some serious game like Formula 1 simulator robotic using arm robot. Basically this simulator robot is like a race game, operator sit in cabin that attached in the arm robot that face screen that give the visual of race track. There are feed back between steering wheel and pedals from cabin and video on the screen. The visualization is create…

Build Arm Robot with Common Materials in Class

This document is providing information about guidance in making the arm robot for student. This project is headed for student in range of 8 to 18 years old. Using common materials like pencils, paper clips, or cardboard student will explore the design, construction, team work, material selection and use it under the supervision by their teacher that has basic understanding on electrical and electronic concept. The student will work in a team of …

I-limb ultra Prosthetic Hand from Touch Bionics

Here is one of the prosthetic products from Touch Bionics, i-limb ultra. I-limb ultra is a special designed prosthetic hand for those who want something more natural with their prosthesis. I-limb ultra works and looks naturally than any powered prosthetic hand in market. This high-tech prosthesis has independent natural joints in each finger. These natural joints allow i-limb ultra to greatly familiarize itself with the shape of object that is grasped by user. Moreover, i-limb ultra becomes more versatile by providing user with ability of customable prosthesis for daily activities. To support this versatile feature Touch Bionics uses unique biosim software in this hand. Many automated selections are available within i-limb ultra. For example user could choose precision pinch mode to grip small object like dice (see the image bellow). Another mode that user could choose is automated grips and gestures.

First Ever Surgery Done by Robots

McSleepy and DaVinci are robots that done a surgery in removing a man prostate. This surgery is done in McGill University Health Center, Canada. What makes it big news is that this surgery is the first ever surgery done by robots. The robots have a different specialty. McSleepy is a special robot that focused on anesthesia. While DaVinci, is a special robot that do the surgery. The process of the surgery is done in a strict supervision. The robot surgery shows that robot surgery is more thorough and precise than human.

Telepresence Robot Jazz Attracts Hanover tech fair Visitors

It is not about a genre of music but is about the technology. The world’s biggest IT fair that was hold on March 2011 at the CeBIT, in Hanover. The French firm Gostai, as the creator of Telepresence Robot Jazz states that “it is a shiny white humanoid robot that its makers believe could transform business meetings and reduce the need for long-distance travel”. Telepresence Robot Jazz can run for five straight hours at around 4 km per hour, the most important thing is it does not need to be recharged and return to its charging station when it runs out of juice.

Ciudad Nazca Robot at Peruvian Desert

Its a brilliant idea to use a robot in a art project to draw a true scale of map into a surface of desert. This Ciudad Nazca project was done by artist named Rodrigo Derteano. His autonomous Ciudad Nazca robot is able of uncovering desert ground to reveal lighter color underneath. This Ciudad Nazca robot’s techniques is similar to the original Ciudad Nazca lines that was found in the southern desert of Peru. Derteano autonomous robot was used to draw map of city in the desert. This robot moves with the sensor guidance installed on it. Some cities that was drawn on this project are Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro and Bogota. An image could have about kilometers of lenght which could only seen from a plane or satellite.

Humanoid Robot Nao

Aldebaran Robotics that is based in France shown up their skillful robot Nao. Nao now can be come the coolest humanoid robot in market. Nao can be the family companion which self-governing. Nao has 23 inch size and completed with impressive action. In Nao’s video you can see how Nao can grasp thing with his hands. Beside that Nao has image and sound data.

Art Of Work: Prosthetic Suit Made Of Wood

Bellow is a real robotic prosthetic suit but couldn’t work if you force to use it. The matter is did someone really work hard to make this suit? Yes, he did. He is Michael Rea an-32 years old sculptor from Chicago that currently reside in Milwaukee. Rea is working outside the normal sculpture and jump to the distinctive one. Where he makes wood seen as the only available source of material that he could found in this world. But its nice and cool to have this distinctive robotic in different view. This cool wooden suit robot is tittled “A Prosthetic Suit For Stephen Hawking w/ Japanese Steel” that he made in 2007.
