World’s Record For Long-Lasting Battery

On 24 May 2008 Panasonic demonstrated their long-lasting battery product to stunt their consumers. The demonstration took place in Grand Canyon where a little robot powered by a pair of Evoltas should climb a rope that hanging on one of Grand Canyon cliff. The rope hanged about 530 meter from bottom to the top of the cliff and remarkably the 17cm tall and 130 gram robot successfully climbed the rope in six hours and 45 minutes. This huge-achievement from Panasonic’s little robot powered by EVOLTA AA battery was recognized by Guinness Book of World Records by awarding this long-lasting battery as the longest-lasting battery in the world.
