Spray, First AUV Crossed The Gulf Stream

AUV or Autonomous Underwater Vehicle named Spray was the first of its kind that successfully crossed the Gulf Stream from Bermuda. The journey that this small AUV took was about 12 miles. The two meter long orange glider Spray was launched at 24 March 2005 to start its journey on the open water. After reaching the land across the sea from Bermuda, this AUV should travel back to Bermuda, again, for recovery. This mission was the second mission that Spray took after the last mission of travelling the Gulf Stream from another direction. The starting point of this long journey was at Station S at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
