Smart ‘Communication’ Between Plants And Gardener Robot

en. Nikolaus Correll was a postdoctoral assistant that working in MIT Professor Daniel Rus’ Distributed Robotic Lab. Correll saw a possibility that robot could be applied in green application. This robot equipped with arm and water pump. To create “communication” between robot and plants Correll placed local soil sensing. This way gardener robot will receive notification about when plants should need water or nutrient. This system also allow robo…

Earthquake Robot Detector Senses Earthquake Vibration

et of an earthquake about three hours in advance. Two transmitters and one receiver were used in this project. The transmitter’s circuit is kept beneath the surface of earth, this transmitter works in sensing the temperature, water and also water level. Using microwave frequencies transmitter send the information to the surface. After all the information received its time the robot works by giving the alarm. “I have made a robot called Earthqua…

AquaPenguin An Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

Festo’s artificial autonomous under water penguin, AquaPenguin. This AquaPenguin has a hydrodynamic body contour. This penguin has a real good maneuver under water. This penguin can move backward. Festo’s bionic Penguins designed to be autonomous underwater vehicles that can orient and navigate through the water. They have 3D sonar system that allows communication with their surroundings and with other robotic penguins. This system makes them …

Underabove Dual Lens Camera by Han In Kyung

It is impossible to live in both above and below water surface, since it is separated ever. And in fact, it is difficult to grasp perfect visual view of both simultaneously. So for amateur to professional diver, this device is great to grab. With Underabove Dual Lens Camera by Han In Kyung, it is now possible to grasp clear visual view of both worlds simultaneously. The Dual Lens Camera can float at the surface of the water and able to capture 2…

Can move in surge and maneuver in tight space under water. What makes it different from others is that Transphibian can works in shallow place. The developer allows this robot to carry under water camera in exploration and this robot can be used to swim in distance. …

Antarctic Ice Shelf And Ice-Covered Ocean Underwater Robot Exploration

From October 17 through November 12 of 2010 researches from the University of British Colombia are doing an underwater robot exploration in Antarctic ice shelf and ice-covered ocean. This research is done in studying the effects of ice shelves on the mixing of sea water. This research will result in data collection for the Antarctica 2010 Glacier Tongues and Ocean Mixing Research Project. This project investigator is Craig Stevens at the New Z…

P3 (1993-1997)

Standing in 1.600mm and weighed of 130kg P3 (Prototype Model 3) had a “more human” look than the P1 and P2. In P3 the system control used has been decentralized. The material used for the component has been changed in order to resize the body and reducing the weight of this robot. All the changing has been succeed in making this robot smaller than the previous prototype. This succeeds made P3 fit enough to be used in human environment.

Cypriot School Students Learn To Build Underwater Robot

Organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture, MIT, and Cyprus Institute students in Ayia Fyla High School in Limassol learn to construct underwater robot called Sea Perch. This two-week of underwater robot construction educational training for teacher and students in Cyprus aimed to teach teachers about how to construct an underwater remotely operated vehicle. Sea Perch itself initially developed by MIT in order to promote the interest from school students toward robotics, science, technology, and engineering.

Cleaning and Inspection Wheel Based Robot ANATROLLER ARI-50

This is one of Robot Design’s products named The ANATROLLER ARI-50. Like the others ARI this robot is a special robot used for cleaning and duct inspection. This robot is a durable, consistent, tough, and compact robot for cleaning and inspection. With the compact size this robot is a perfect robot used for cleaning and inspection the pipe easily. Comes in light weight this robot could move fast inside the pipe and clean almost 9 times its weight. With the camera equipped this robot can make a video recorder and it’s easy for the user to install and operate the ARI-50.

Kevin Grennan Would Like To Make Robots Less Robotics

A London designer named Kevin Grennan created weird robotic of armpit with its hair too. Getting more weirdoes this robotic armpit gets sweat just like ours. Grennan thought that with the use of odor the interaction between human and robotic will improve. Like the example in the Grennan’s site where robotic armpit installed on bomb disposal robot like Talon. Whenever the robot undergo on dangerous mission it will start sweating just like human when they get afraid of things. This weird invention was explained by Kevin Grennan as translation of human’s most complex and private parts into robot.
