Robot Design Contest To Build Mine Detecting Robot

NI Arabia or National Instrument Arabia a Lebanon engineering company holds a robotic competition. The contest is competing design of mine detecting robot. Currently there are five finalists announced to compete on the final row at 15 July 2011 which are LUMS University from Pakistan, Higher College of Technology – Abu Dhabi from UAE, Texas A&M University from Qatar, Bahceshir University from Turkey, and KSU from Saudi Arabia. This robot contest was promoted by NI Arabia in order to bring awareness toward landmines problem and cluster bomb in Lebanon. In Lebanon itself there are 45% from 150 million square meters of land affected by mines and is still going to be cleaned.
